The trio A-zaar is proud to introduce a brand new concept
of acoustic show. The trio made up of Gwendolen; singer,
saxophonist, Mike Friend; guitarist and Marcel Boulanger
on the upright bass, offer a wide variety of styles of music
to please the most difficult of clients; Mo-town, classic
rock, blues, jazz and funk. Their interpretations of original
and cover songs head straight to the essential of what good
music is.
After working together for more than ten years, A-zaar decided
on their original music as well, finishing the album "Carefully
avoiding success" in 2004 (ON SALE NOW). Often compared
to Holly Cole and Norah Jones, A-zaar is charming and simple.
They always catch their audience by surprise and give a great
performance.
All of the songs interpreted by the group are original arrangements.
Acoustic music pushed and exploited to the maximum of it's
potential. Popular songs interpreted with sultury rhythms,
ballads inspired by rock. A very original sound that adds
flair and style to any event.

A-zaar has also performed
side by side with many artists from the Quebec scenes;
the opening act for Éric Lapointe, a private party
where they where accompanied by "Garou", Marie-Michelle
Desrosiers, André-Philippe Gagnon and the opening
for Nathalie Choquette.
A-zaar (Gwendolen au chant et au saxophone,
Mike Friend à la guitare et Marcel Boulanger à la
contrebasse) s'est lancé en 2004, en studio pour travailler
l’album "carefully avoiding success". A-zaar
crée une ambiance chaleureuse et intime, souvent comparé à Norah
Jones et Holly Cole. Une musique agréable et séduisante
qui plaît à un public d'écoute.
Toutes les chansons interprétées par le groupe
sont des compositions et arrangements originaux. La musique
acoustique poussée à l'extrême de son
potentiel. Des chansons populaires jouées sur des
rythmes séduisants, des ballades inspirées
des chansons rocks. Une sonorité originale qui ajoute
du piquant quel que soit l’événement.
